Tottenham fans split over Bilal El Khannouss transfer links, ‘I need Spurs to buy him’
Tottenham supporters remain unconvinced by recent transfer links to Bilal El Khannouss, who featured in a relegated Leicester City side last season.
We reported a few days back that Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Leicester City midfielder Bilal El Khannouss this summer as they continue their search for an attacking midfielder.
The 21-year-old had a taste of top-flight football in England last term with Leicester City and returned three goals and two assists in a struggling Foxes side.
Of course, while Tottenham are monitoring the situation of the Belgian-Moroccan talent, they are not alone in their pursuit, with other Premier League sides showing keen interest, alongside teams in Europe.
Tottenham fans are divided over Bilal El Khannouss links
With the recent links gaining traction, Tottenham Hotspur fans have now taken to social media to give their take on whether or not Bilal El Khannouss is the sort of signing the club needs to make.
One fan believes that El Khannouss would be an amazing addition, commenting: “Would be an amazing signing”, to which others responded in kind, with another agreeing and adding: “Khannouss, Mikautadze, Palhinha and then Robinson.”
However, another supporter expressed doubt, stating: “I am not convinced. The Leicester team he was part of was so horrific beyond words last season, if he at least helped them to compete, I would perhaps be more convinced.”
A third fan outright dismissed the idea, commenting: “No, it would not.” While the mixed reactions continued, another supporter said: “Are we linked? I NEED Spurs to buy him.”
A different fan weighed in critically: “This is why we do not get anywhere because we sign Championship players.”
One more added: “All well and good, but we have Odobert and Tel along with numerous other talents, have to add first eleven experienced players to this squad.”
And a final supporter gave their verdict: “El Khannouss, Kudus and Tel balling behind Big Dom… I would be moved.”
Spurs need to take their squad to new heights
El Khannouss is a young player with huge potential, good technical quality and flair, and comparisons with James Maddison are already being floated around in certain circles.
The midfielder could very much be available for well below the £60 million Tottenham were willing to pay for Morgan Gibbs-White earlier this window.
However, there are question marks over whether he has the needed experience to elevate the level of the current Tottenham squad, which needs players with immense quality, and not potential, given they will be competing on several fronts, including the Champions League.
