Atlético Madrid makes €25M bid for forward to complete attack with Julián Álvarez and Thiago Almada

Atlético de Madrid is already eyeing another attacking addition, even after introducing five new signings in just three days. The Spanish club is reportedly preparing a new offer for a Serie A forward to complete its offensive overhaul.

Atlético de Madrid has made a splash in the transfer market over the past three days, announcing five new signings, including Thiago Almada—one of the most exciting arrivals for fans. But the Spanish giants are far from finished with their summer business.

According to reports from Italy, the club is already preparing a formal offer for Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori, a key piece of the Serie A champion’s attack. The 25-year-old Italian forward would join Almada and Julián Álvarez to form a reimagined attacking trio under Diego Simeone.

Renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed on Sky Sports that Atlético is ready to bid €25 million plus an additional €5 million in performance-based bonuses for Raspadori, who can play as a winger, attacking midfielder, or center forward.

Raspadori played a rotational role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, appearing in 26 Serie A matches with 6 goals and 1 assist. He also featured in three Coppa Italia matches, adding another assist, and represented Italy in both the UEFA Nations League and the start of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

At this stage, Napoli is reportedly holding out for at least €5 million more than Atlético’s current offer, though negotiations are said to be progressing positively. The only potential obstacle for Los Colchoneros would be if a rival bid from AS Roma—another interested party—emerges and surpasses their proposal.

Raspadori’s journey so far

Giacomo Raspadori made his professional debut with Sassuolo in 2019 before moving to Napoli in August 2022. Even before his club switch, he had already made early appearances for Italy’s national team, and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Euro 2020.

His most productive season at Napoli came in 2023/24, when he played in 47 matches across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and delivering 6 assists. Often deployed just behind the strikers, Raspadori thrived as a creative link between midfield and the front line.

With Atlético looking to build a more dynamic and versatile offense, Raspadori could be the final piece of an ambitious summer rebuild.
