Done Deal: Cremonese secure Audero after Gollini move collapses
Emil Audero will be the new goalkeeper for Cremonese, as they opted for the Como veteran rather than Pierluigi Gollini.
It has been a tricky process for the Grigiorossi to find their shot-stopper after promotion from Serie B in the play-offs and the appointment of coach Davide Nicola.
Cremonese choose Audero after Gollini talks
They had been in advanced negotiations with Gollini, who made the transfer to Roma in January from Atalanta.
The former Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Fiorentina player had even already arrived in the city and was waiting for the all-clear when problems arose and the talks broke down.
However, Cremonese suddenly changed direction and in the last 24 hours reached an agreement with Audero instead.
Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia confirm the deal is done and Audero will undergo a medical before signing the contract.
The Indonesia international is 28 years old and completed his €6m transfer from Sampdoria to Como in 2024.
He started last season with Como, then went out on loan to Palermo in Serie B.
