Weekend preview: Men set for Forest Green friendly finale

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Men's First Team step foot on the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground turf for the first time in the new 2025-26 season on Saturday as they conclude their series of warm up fixtures with a prestigious friendly against Forest Green Rovers Under 18s (3pm kick off).

The contest against the National League side's youth outfit will provide Jonny Aitkenhead and his charges one final, tough test ahead of Tuesday's opening Hellenic League Premier Division fixture away against Thornbury Town.

And it's the first chance for supporters to take a look at Bassett's new look side on home turf - so please do come along on Saturday!

Admission is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members.

Also this weekend, the Women's First Team visit Keynsham Town Development for their second friendly. James Lally's side visit their FA Women's National League Reserve South West opponents on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick off).

And at lunchtime on Saturday the Development team entertain Fairford Town Reserves (AGP, 12pm kick off).
