Stefon Diggs Being Cleared Has This Major Impact On Patriots

The New England Patriots are about to issue a big fat check.

Stefon Diggs, who was signed to a three-year, $63.5 million contract in March, was cleared for full participation in training camp practices, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on Tuesday. Diggs, of course, is recovering from a torn ACL suffered last October.

How do those things correlate?

Diggs has now officially passed his physical, which seemed to be the case since he avoided landing on any of the reserve lists, meaning he is due the full amount of his $12 million signing bonus, as pointed out by Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi.

The Patriots will be happy to pay that out given how quickly their new top target has recovered from his injury. Diggs has been “trending” toward being ready for Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, and by all accounts, it looks like he’ll be ready to go even sooner than that.
