Manchester United are preparing to send several promising youngsters out on loan in a bid to accelerate their development through first-team football.

According to journalist Nathan Salt, Ethan Williams “won’t go on the US tour and will instead focus on leaving on loan this summer”.

Several League One teams are keen on him after his impressive performances with Cheltenham Town.

The 19-year-old made 17 appearances in League Two last season, contributing two goals and two assists.

Williams was part of the Man United squad that faced Leeds United in the friendly game on Saturday.

However, he was left on the bench as an unused substitute.

The teenage sensation is predominantly a left winger but could be utilised in the left wing-back position under Ruben Amorim.

United are hopeful that a well-chosen loan stint will give Williams regular minutes and the platform to prove he belongs at the top level.

His eye-catching displays have raised interest in acquiring his services and he is likely to stay in England to further develop his game.

Highly rated duo Elyh Harrison and Harry Amass are also on the verge of sealing temporary exits from Carrington.

Amass made his senior debut under Amorim last season after consistently impressing in youth competitions.

However, the recent arrivals of Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon have seen him slip further down the pecking order.

With Onana suffering a hamstring injury in training, some fans expected young Harrison to be given a surprise chance between the sticks.

Instead, the 18-year-old goalkeeper is now close to joining League Two side Shrewsbury Town on loan.
