Man United turn up the heat on exit-bound stars with latest squad snub

0 9

Manchester United are set for a major overhaul this summer under manager Ruben Amorim.

Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are considered surplus to requirements.

According to The Athletic, these five out-of-favour players have been asked to report for training only after 5 PM this week.

By then, Amorim and the rest of the first-team squad had already left Carrington.

They will not participate in team training as they are not part of Amorim’s plans for the coming season.

Amorim remains firm in his approach

The Portuguese head coach is unwilling to compromise on the type of players he wants in his squad.

Rashford fell out of favour last season due to a perceived lack of commitment in training sessions.

The England international was dropped from the senior set-up and loaned to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024–25 campaign.

Antony has failed to match the intensity of the Premier League since his transfer from Ajax in 2022.

He found renewed form during his loan spell at Real Betis and is now eyeing a return to La Liga.

Garnacho’s fallout with Amorim reportedly began after he publicly questioned the manager’s selections following the UEFA Europa League final.

Injuries have curtailed Malacia’s game time over the last two seasons.

Patrick Dorgu moved to Old Trafford in January and academy talent Harry Amass will be his deputy for the upcoming campaign.

Jadon Sancho is arguably United’s worst signing and the club cannot wait to see the back of the Englishman.

He remains in talks with Juventus for a summer switch.
