Red Sox Draftee Posts Adorable Photo After Second-Round Selection
It all came full circle for Boston Red Sox draftee Henry Godbout.
The Red Sox drafted Godbout in the second-round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday night. Godbout, the No. 75 overall pick, is an infield prospect from the University of Virginia.
He also just so happens to have rooted for Boston when he was a young fan, and has an adorable photo to prove it. Godbout posted it to Instagram on Sunday night shortly after being drafted by Craig Breslow and company.

Ironically, Godbout is a native of New York City but attended the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As far as his time in the New England area, Godbout played for the Vermont Lake Monsters in the Futures Collegiate League in 2022 and for the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League in 2024.
Godbout primarily played second base at Virginia, but the Red Sox believe he will split time between second and shortstop, amateur scouting director Devin Pearson told reporters. Boston has been impressed by his bat-to-ball skills and approach at the plate.
He hit .309 with eight home runs and 37 RBIs in 50 games for the Cavaliers in 2025 after a stellar sophomore season (1.117 OPS).
