Mbappé makes major decision in €55M lawsuit against PSG
Kylian Mbappé has taken a step back in his legal battle with Paris Saint-Germain. According to L’Équipe, the Real Madrid forward has withdrawn the criminal complaint for moral harassment and attempted extortion that he filed on May 16 against his former club. The accusation had led to the opening of a formal investigation by the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office and the involvement of two investigating judges.
Sources close to Mbappé told the French outlet that the decision was driven by his desire to ease tensions in the legal sphere and focus fully on his sporting responsibilities. However, the legal fight isn’t completely over—Mbappé is still pursuing a claim with the Conseil de Prud’hommes, France’s labor court, to recover €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses from the final months of his time at PSG.
Signs of a truce between Mbappé and PSG
Tensions between Mbappé and PSG seem to have cooled in recent weeks. On June 10, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said:
“We were fortunate this year without him, but I wish him the best at Real Madrid, with all my heart.”
That comment marked the beginning of a thaw between the two sides, following Mbappé’s departure from Paris this past summer after seven seasons at the club.
A high-stakes reunion on the horizon
On the field, the drama is far from over. Tomorrow, in the Club World Cup semifinal, Mbappé and PSG will meet again in a matchup charged with sporting intensity, emotional weight, and lingering legal tension. All eyes will be on the pitch—but the backstory will be impossible to ignore.
