Galatasaray and Inter in talks over Calhanoglu deal
Galatasaray and Inter have opened talks over a deal involving Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, reports from Italy claim.
Reports from CalcioMercato suggest that, in the last few days, the two clubs have started discussions over the experienced central midfielder – after increasing tensions between the Turkish player and other squad members such as Lautaro Martinez.
As tensions flare, Calhanoglu could leave Inter
After Inter’s shock Club World Cup exit at the hands of Brazilian club Fluminense, Argentine forward Martinez sensationally slammed his teammate – saying that players that do not want to be at the club should leave.
Calhanoglu had already been linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri and despite supposed peace talks between the duo, the Turkish midfielder is reportedly accelerating towards an exit.
The reports indicate that whilst no official offer has been lodged as of yet, with Inter demanding €35-40 million for the player, formal discussions have started. The Nerazzurri are, however, only prepared to sell if a serious offer arrives for the former Leverkusen man.
