Tottenham consider making offer to free agent to beat Besiktas to transfer bargain

0 6

Tottenham Hotspur may now step up their pursuit of Kyle Walker-Peters after hearing that a Europa League club could soon send an offer the way of the former Spurs man.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that Tottenham are eyeing a move to re-sign Walker-Peters to address their lack of homegrown numbers.

It was reported last week that Walker-Peters had signalled an intention to return to Spurs, but the race for his signature has heated up since.

According to some outlets, Besiktas have joined several Premier League clubs in the race for Walker-Peters, and are ready to substantiate their interest, and a new update has suggested that this might kick Tottenham into action.

Tottenham are considering making an offer to Kyle Walker-Peters

Football Insider now claim that Besiktas are ready to submit a contract offer to the former Southampton man’s representatives, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a big fan of the 28-year-old.

The Turkish club’s advances could see Tottenham Hotspur step up their pursuit of their academy graduate, with the Lilywhites now considering sending an offer of their own to the player.

The outlet adds that it remains an ‘open race’ for Walker-Peters’ signature, with the right-back having no shortage of suitors across the Premier League.

Tottenham may have an advantage in race for Walker-Peters

According to reports, Everton, West Ham and Fulham are also ready to challenge Spurs for Walker-Peters.

However, it was claimed last week that Tottenham had already held talks with Walker-Peters regarding a return to N17, and were optimistic about agreeing a deal, given the full-back’s connections with the club.

Additionally, Walker-Peters is very close with Dominic Solanke, having been the best man at the Tottenham striker’s wedding this summer.

The Lilywhites may be hoping that Solanke may be able to help persuade the defender to return to Hotspur Way.
