Reports Inzaghi and Al-Hilal lining up Calhanoglu approach to rival Galatasaray
Reports in Turkey claim that Simone Inzaghi and Al-Hilal are lining up an approach for Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to rival Galatasaray, who are also pushing to sign the 31-year-old, who finds himself in the midst of a dressing room rift with the Nerazzurri.
Though he was unable to feature at the Club World Cup through injury, Calhanoglu has remained under the spotlight amidst transfer links to Galatasaray, which has partly led to a public falling-out with captain Lautaro Martinez.
Calhanoglu is currently under contract with Inter until the summer of 2027, and earns a reported salary of €6.5m per season, the second-highest in the Nerazzurri camp alongside Nicolo Barella and behind the aforementioned Lautaro.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, are reportedly prepared to offer Calhanoglu a ‘double-digit’ salary offer, ie. in excess of €10m per season, while Inter are seeking a fee in the region of €30m from interested parties this summer.
Reports Al-Hilal prepared to rival Galatasaray for Calhanoglu
Now, according to reports from Turkish outlet Milliyet (via calciomercato.com), Galatasaray are not the only club interested in signing the Nerazzurri midfielder this summer.
Thursday’s reports claim that Al-Hilal, coached by former Inter tactician Inzaghi, are also prepared to offer Calhanoglu a lucrative offer.
Al-Hilal are reportedly willing to offer Calhanoglu a contract worth up to €20m per season in wages, and there have also been suggestions that there could be an offer of a future role on Inzaghi’s coaching staff.
