Tottenham fans split on Mohammed Kudus rumours with Yves Bissouma comparison made

0 6

Tottenham fans have been left divided over a potential Mohammed Kudus transfer this summer as a £60m deal is being discussed.

Over the past few weeks, Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new forward has taken several twists and turns, with the club reportedly shifting its focus from Antoine Semenyo to Bryan Mbeumo, then to Eberechi Eze, and now to West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghanaian international has spent the last two seasons in East London and is understood to have an £85 million release clause in his contract, which applies to Premier League clubs.

However, despite the hefty price tag, Spurs appear keen to explore a deal for Mohammed Kudus this summer.

Reports suggest that Kudus is currently top of Tottenham’s summer wishlist, and that talks are already underway, with the club hoping to finalise a deal for the versatile forward who scored five goals and registered three assists in 32 Premier League appearances last season.

While the Hammers winger’s release clause stands at £85 million, Tottenham are said to be exploring a cut-price deal closer to £60 million for Kudus, which they believe could be enough to tempt West Ham United into selling the 24-year-old.

A section of the Spurs fanbase has urged the club to push through with the transfer for Kudus, insisting that the winger would bring much-needed quality to their forward line.

However, not all supporters are on board, with reactions across social media now appearing mixed, with many fans not convinced the Ghana international is worth £60 million.

One fan remarked, “Seems like Bissouma. Turns up when he wants but is anonymous in other games.” Another supporter was more blunt, comparing Kudus to Dejan Kulusevski: “Hahahah £60m… I thought it was a joke at £50m. No thanks. Kulu did more in fewer appearances last season and it was not a great season for him.”

Others chimed in with similar scepticism: “No, it is a lousy deal. Kudus is not worth £60m and Levy would be better paying £70m or £75m for Eze,” said one.

Another added, “It is a terrible deal. He scored 5 goals last year, which represents terrible value for money. Worth about half of that, tops.”

Despite the criticism, other Spurs fans were far more optimistic about the prospect of Kudus arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One fan said: “Not his biggest fan, but £60m would resemble very decent value given the market etc. Would take him for that,” one supporter commented.

Another added, “Yeah, I do, I think he is worth that.” A third said, “I would say that is a good price all round,” while another urged the club to move quickly: “Yep. Get it done.” One more simply said, “Excellent deal.”

Kudus compared to Spurs’ other attacking targets

Naturally, a player moving directly from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur is a rare sight, with Scott Parker the last man to make that switch back in 2011.

In comparison to other forwards that Tottenham have been linked with this summer, Kudus does appear to fall short in terms of pure end product.

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo scored 15 more goals than Kudus in the Premier League last season, Antoine Semenyo netted six more, and Eberechi Eze grabbed three more.

However, given that Tottenham remain in need of a natural right winger to provide competition for Brennan Johnson, bringing in Mohammed Kudus could still represent smart business if the deal can be done at the right price.
