Tottenham have made fresh contact over Jonathan David, reigniting their interest in the Lille striker as they look to hijack Napoli’s move for the Canadian international.
Tottenham fans who have been keeping tabs with transfer news, particularly on Spurs Web, would be no strangers to reports linking Jonathan David with a move to Spurs.
However, while that has been the case, reports of such links have since cooled down, as it was last reported that Napoli were closing in on a deal to sign Jonathan David from Lille.
The Canadian forward’s contract with the Ligue 1 side expires later this month, making him a free agent and allowing him to enter negotiations with any club.

While it looked like Napoli were set to hand Tottenham Hotspur a major blow in their pursuit of David, a fresh report has now revealed another twist in this transfer saga.
It is now being claimed by Get Italian Football News that Spurs are trying to prevent David’s move to Napoli.
It is reported that the talks between David’s representatives and both Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli have slowed down because of Spurs’ fresh involvement in the race.
It is stated that the Lilywhites entered into the race for the Canada international last week, as they made fresh contact with the forward, hence preventing the two Italian sides from progressing in their respective moves.
Spurs push for Jonathan David as Richarlison future remains unclear
Interest in David is rife across Europe, as reports also claim that Inter Milan had previously tried to sign the 23-year-old, but their attempts did not lead to any concrete developments.
Tottenham’s renewed interest would not come as any surprise, as the Lilywhites are keen on bolstering their attack, as rumours continue to fly regarding the future of Richarlison.
It is understood that Richarlison could leave this summer, and should that happen, securing the services of a player like David, who grabbed 25 goals and 12 assists, including seven goals in the Champions League, on a free transfer, will be nothing but music to the ears of Levy.
