Man United chiefs willing to sanction £45m deal on Ruben Amorim’s demand
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, once a rising star, now finds himself firmly out of manager Ruben Amorim’s plans for the upcoming season.
The youngster has been told by the manager that he is not a part of his plans for the future.
Following the Europa League defeat against Tottenham, Garnacho questioned the manager’s team selection which broke down his relationship with the Red Devils boss.
Off the pitch, Garnacho’s relationship with the club further deteriorated following a controversial incident. Photographed wearing an Aston Villa shirt, his apparent disregard for club solidarity raised eyebrows and fueled the growing divide between player and manager.
Man United decide Alejandro Garnacho price tag
Despite his talent, United are preparing to cash in, reportedly placing a £70 million asking price on the young winger.
However, according to a latest report, the Red Devils will even lower their asking price in order to offload the Argentine.
According to Daily Star, United are prepared to compromise on the fee. Sources indicate that a bid in the region of £45 million could now be enough to secure his services.
This is a notable drop from their original stance but reflects the club’s realistic appraisal of the situation and desire to accelerate the rebuilding process under Amorim.
From a financial standpoint, any sale of Garnacho will represent 100% profit on the balance sheet under Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).
Therefore, his transfer would be recorded as pure profit, a crucial consideration for United as they look to stay within spending limits while still reshaping the squad.
Amorim is rebuilding his squad this summer
Selling Garnacho would also free up space for more compatible players in Amorim’s tactical system, with reports suggesting United are targeting wide players and attackers better suited to the Portuguese manager’s style.
In addition, the funds raised could contribute directly to key targets in other positions, including midfield and goalkeeper, where reinforcements are also being prioritised.
While fans may be disappointed to see a highly-rated academy graduate leave, the club appears intent on making tough stance on players who are not aligned with the manager’s philosophy.
