NBA Rumors: Trade Market ‘Robust’ For Celtics Bench Piece
Bill Simmons asked, so we delivered.
Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix appeared on the Bill Simmons Podcast on Tuesday, and made a strong declaration that immediately stopped the host in his tracks to predict that aggregators would… well, do their thing.
“The market is robust right now for Sam Hauser,” Mannix said, as transcribed by Jack Anderson of CelticsBlog. “He’s a 40-plus percent three point shooter, who’s been on a championship team, who’s on a very manageable contract. There’s a lot of teams that could use guys like that.”
I’m nothing if not a man of the people, Bill.
Hauser, 27, is one of the most obvious trade candidates on a roster that entered the offseason full of them. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, of course, were the others, but they’ve already been shipped off to help the organization duck below the second apron and avoid an insane tax bill. Hauser being moved would be less money management, and more of a way to open money to help extend others like Al Horford and Luke Kornet.
It’s less of a matter of if, and more a matter of when the Celtics’ next move will come.
