Brad Marchand Takes Dig At Oilers D-Man For Stanley Cup Final Chirp At Ex-Bruin
He who laughs last laughs loudest, and suffice it to say the Florida Panthers are having a pretty loud chuckle right now — with Brad Marchand still at the center of it.
The Panthers winger is relishing his Stanley Cup win, Florida’s second in a row, following his trade deadline move from the Boston Bruins. From lighthearted parade shenanigans to an Instagram tour de force, Marchand, clearly, is basking in the glow of a title.
But when things were far less chipper, it was Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman cracking up.
Late in the first overtime of Game 1, former Bruins forward Tomas Nosek, now with the Panthers, was whistled for a delay of game after sending a puck over the glass. As he was escorted to the box by a referee, Walman skated over to him and laughed in his face in a now-viral clip.
The Oilers would score on that power play to take the opener. But, of course, the Panthers ultimately wound up winning the series in six games.
But Marchand, waiting weeks after the incident occurred, roasted Walman on Wednesday.
Marchand and Nosek played together with the Bruins from 2021 to 2023. Now, they’re champions together in Florida.
