Tottenham and Arsenal receive transfer blow as PSG set a firm summer stance
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for a France international, who took the Ligue 1 by storm last season, but Fabrizio Romano has now offered some bad news to the Lilywhites regarding the forward.
Thomas Frank is reportedly prioritising strengthening Tottenham’s forward line this summer, which is understandable amidst rumours that Heung-min Son could be on his way to Saudi Arabia.
It was reported last month that the Lilywhites had set their sights on a French star, who found the back of the net 21 times and provided 19 assists last season.
It emerged that Tottenham and Arsenal were keen on a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, who could be allowed to leave by the European champions.
Tottenham and Arsenal will not be signing Bradley Barcola
It was subsequently reported two weeks ago that Bayern Munich had joined Tottenham in the race to land Barcola.
Both the North London side and the Bundesliga giants have now been handed a blow by Romano, who has revealed that the 22-year-old will not be leaving the French capital this summer.
The journalist claimed that Luis Enrique and the PSG management are planning for the upcoming campaign with the French international as a part of their squad.
Spurs will soon lock horns with Barcola and his PSG teammates
Thomas Frank and Spurs have to come up with a way to stop the prolific Barcola and his teammates as the Lilywhites lock horns with the French giants in the UEFA Super Cup clash in Udine on August 13.
Tottenham will take some confidence from PSG’s struggles in the Club World Cup, with Brazilian minnows Botafogo showing that Luis Enrique’s side are beatable.
Additionally, a FIFA rule could mean that PSG could be severely understrength against Spurs in the Super Cup clash following the Ligue 1 club’s involvement in the Club World Cup.
