Tottenham could sign Algerian number six for just £8.5m this summer

0 2

Tottenham are turning their attention to a 25-year-old central midfielder, who has emerged as one of the stars of Belgian football over the last couple of years, and the Lilywhites have the financial means to blow the competition out of the water.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that several reports over the last few weeks have claimed signing a defensive midfielder is one of Thomas Frank’s priorities this summer.

That ties in with ongoing rumours suggesting that Tottenham may cash in on Yves Bissouma, who is into the final year of his contract.

It has now emerged that Spurs are set to turn their attention to an Algerian international, who Premier League fans may not be too familiar with.

Tottenham plotting a move for 25-year-old Adem Zorgane

According to a report in DZ Foot, Tottenham are now eyeing a move for Sporting Charleroi’s Adem Zorgane.

Zorgane has come on leaps and bounds since his move to the Jupiler Pro League side back in 2021 and has emerged as one of the most reliable number sixes in the division.

Tottenham scouted the Algerian international last season and were left mightily impressed by his performances, particularly his showing against KVC Westerlo in May, with the Spurs representatives presumably making the trip to run the rule over Alfie Devine and Luka Vuskovic.

The report says that Zorgane has already informed Charleroi of his desire to leave, with the club not expected to stand in his way.

Tottenham have an advantage over Royal Antwerp

DZ Foot say that the midfielder is valued at €10m (£8.5m) by Charleroi and that is seen as affordable to Tottenham Hotspur, with the asking price ‘enough to convince’ the Lilywhites to explore a deal.

Royal Antwerp are also keen on landing Zorgane and have made advances towards the player over recent weeks.

However, they would first have to sell some players to fund a deal for the 25-year-old, which gives Spurs the advantage as the North London club have no such constraint.
