Only right to call out a small minority of fans (19 replies)
Apologies if late to the party but seen some of stuff on twitter lately that has really got under my skin.
Not even going to dive into the we could be linked with Messi and he wouldn’t fit our profile brigade. Yamal could come on trial and some people would still moan. Or the lot who try and make a rivalry with every single team that exist.
What really got under my skin was the discussion around season tickets. I saw lots of people being insulted and chastised for having said they missed out on a season ticket. I’m sorry but that is just not Blues at all. Should have got one when we were shit etc etc.
We are a working class club, in the last 5-10 years the cost of just about everything has increased but wages have not. People are struggling, both for themselves but feeding their kids and keeping their heads above water. Football is a luxury and people have several reasons for having not been able to go.
Insulting people for not getting tickets or season tickets just does not sit well with me. We’re Blues, our strength is our unity and diversity. We welcome people from all backgrounds and in all stages of life. What unites us is our support for the club and the team. We aren’t like those sell out prem clubs where tickets go to the highest bidder. We’re a club that still has our roots and looks after our own.
Personally I think it is absolutely great that we have such a demand for tickets and season tickets. For what it is worth I myself am a season ticket holder.
I just don’t think going at other fans essentially about finances and with no idea about the challenges someone may have faced is acceptable. Do better. We are all blues, supporting this team there is a you and me, not an us and them.
