Tottenham tipped to put crazy low price tag on Destiny Udogie this summer

0 7

It has now been claimed that one of Serie A’s biggest clubs are turning their attention towards signing Destiny Udogie from Tottenham, with the report making an outlandish claim about how much the left-back is expected to cost this summer.

In his second season in North London, Udogie failed to hit the heights that he did in his debut campaign at Spurs, but the Italian did have a strong end to the season, playing a key role in Tottenham Hotspur’s march to Europa League glory.

Over the last couple of months, several reports claimed that Udogie has emerged as a target for Man City, but Pep Guardiola’s men have since signed Rayan Ait Nouri from Wolves.

According to many sources, Tottenham have no intention of selling Udogie this summer, with the Lilywhites instead thought to want to add further reinforcements at left-back to provide cover for the 22-year-old.

Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie is now a target for AC Milan

Earlier this month, Corriere della Sera floated the possibility that AC Milan could turn their attention to Udogie as they aim to strengthen at left-back this summer.

Now, the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has suggested that the Tottenham man may indeed be a realistic target for Rossoneri.

The outlet claims that Milan may turn to the Spurs man as an alternative to Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, who they have expressed an interest in.

The report states that while signing Udogie may seem like an impossible task for Milan right now, the operation could become realistic by the end of August.

Perhaps most bewilderingly, the publication suggests that Tottenham would demand just €30m (£25.6m) for the former Udinese man, which seems like wishful thinking.

Udogie’s agent has been clear about a potential return to Serie A

This report from Gazzetta flies in the face of what the Tottenham defender’s agent, Stefano Antonelli, said about his client’s future recently.

Antonelli told Tuttomercatoweb last month that it would be impossible for any Serie A club to sign the left-back for less than €50m (£42.7m) and he ruled out an immediate return to Italian football for the player.

Meanwhile, in his first interview as the Spurs head coach, Thomas Frank named Udogie as one of the players he is looking forward to working with.
