What Thomas Frank has already told Tottenham about Heung-min Son’s future
Thomas Frank has been clear with Tottenham about Heung-min Son’s future, according to a new report, which suggests that the forward can only stay at Spurs during the upcoming season under one condition.
Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly willing to spend big on Son, who is now into the final year of his contract at Tottenham.
Spurs will not decide on Son’s future until August, with the club contractually obliged to include him in their pre-season tour of Asia.
It was reported a few days ago that Son will decide on his future after meeting with Frank, with the South Korean thought to feel that he still has a lot to offer the North London club.
However, a new report has now suggested that the Tottenham head coach has already made a decision on the forward’s future.
What Thomas Frank thinks of Heung-min Son’s Tottenham role next season
TBR Football have now claimed that it is looking increasingly likely that Son’s 10-year spell at Tottenham is coming to an end this summer.
The report says that Frank has already confirmed he is willing to let the Spurs captain leave as he looks to rebuild the club’s squad this summer.
It is explained that the new Tottenham boss has made it clear that Son is ‘welcome’ to stay if he wishes to do so, but only if he accepts that he will spend a fair amount of time on the bench next season.
The 32-year-old has reportedly accepted his fate and is open to an exit from North London this summer.
Spurs are looking to replace Son this summer
TBR Football claim that Spurs have already started scouring the market for the South Korean’s replacement, which indicates that they expect him to leave the club.
Despite signing Mathys Tel in a £30m deal, Frank wants to add further reinforcements up front to replace the long-serving Tottenham legend.
The report backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent weeks by revealing that Antoine Semenyo, Bryan Mbeumo and Eberechi Eze are the Lilywhites’ main targets.
