Brad Marchand Goes On Instagram Spree After Stanley Cup Win
It’s only right that after you win a Stanley Cup Final you celebrate the win.
Brad Marchand definitely has.
The former Boston Bruins captain took to his Instagram to thank every team that traded or didn’t sign his current Florida Panthers teammates. He thanked a large number of NHL teams, but opted to skip out on thanking Boston for trading him to the Panthers.
Marchand also sent a thank you to the Winnipeg Jets for Florida’s head coach, Paul Maurice. Maurice was the head coach for the Jets from 2014 to 2021 before resigning from Winnipeg.
When Marchand decided not to thank the Bruins for the trade, his Florida teammates took matters into their own hands. Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Niko Mikkola and Aleksander Barkov all took to their Instagram stories to thank Boston for Marchand.
Marchand played a big role in the Panthers’ win over the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup. The 37-year-old was one of the best players on the ice for Florida throughout the series.
In six games, Marchand netted six goals, including two multi-goal games. He set a Stanley Cup record, becoming the first player in NHL history to score at least five goals in a Stanley Cup Final with two separate teams.
While his future is currently unknown as he hits free agency during the offseason, Marchand is having fun while he can.
