Go behind the scenes at Queen’s Park training

HEAD COACH Sean Crighton will treat Queen’s Park fans a special look behind the scenes at a Spiders training session next month.

To mark our move to The city Stadium – our permanent base for season 2025-26, the first-team squad will throw open the doors for an up close look at how they prepare for matches.

The open training session will be held at The city Stadium on Saturday, July 19.

Players will be put through their paces by Sean Crighton’s coaching team – including Jim Duffy and goalkeeping coach David Scott.

There will then be opportunities to meet the players in following the on-field activities an autograph and selfie session.

Kiosks will be open for snacks and Bar 1867 will also host fans after the players have completed their work-out.

Head-coach Sean Crighton said: “This is a great opportunity for the fans to meet the players and staff – and vice versa. It’s one we are really looking forward to.

“I’ve taken part in similar sessions at my previous clubs and it’s always a great day.

“The supporters will get to see what it takes to be a professional player, the work that goes on behind the scenes and they can watch their favourite player up close.

“For us it will be another opportunity for the players to work on the brilliant surface and facilities we have at The city Stadium but it’s a chance to bring a buzz together with the fans.

“I want to build a culture at the club of everyone in it together this season. If the fans can be here for a look behind the scenes at training, seeing us working, then they will enjoy it, and it will only help us.”

The special occasion will be open to all fans – though season tickets and members qualify for a catering voucher and poster which can be signed during the afternoon’s autograph session.

These can both be collected from the club office in the JB McAlpine Pavilion in the week leading up to the session, from Tuesday, July 15.

Sean added: “I want the young fans to come out and support us and meet the players.

“Shawlands and the southside is getting busier all the time, new businesses are opening and people are moving in, so it’s about us showing them what we have to offer.

“I was keen to get this open session going and the club have been brilliant in putting it in place for me. I’m really looking forward to it.”
