Patriots Fans Will Love Stefon Diggs’ Latest Post: ‘Work Is Taking Precedence’
The New England Patriots are banking on Stefon Diggs being able to successfully return from a torn ACL and produce like the team’s No. 1 wide receiver. Based on his latest social media post, that’s a task Diggs is not taking lightly.
New England signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract in free agency, even though his 2024 campaign came to an end in Week 8 after he suffered his aforementioned injury.
Things got off to a bit of a rocky start for Diggs when a video surfaced of him handling an unidentified pink substance on a boat. Ultimately, no punishments were handed out for the video, but it wasn’t the sort of distraction the Patriots wanted their new star player creating.
Since then, Diggs has been a model citizen for the Pats as he continues to rehab his ACL injury. He was a key figure during mandatory minicamp, and he unsurprisingly is already emerging as a leader in the wide receiver room.
While a return date isn’t set in stone yet, Diggs is reportedly on track to play for New England in Week 1. If his most recent post on Instagram is anything to go off of, it looks like he’s doing everything he can to get himself ready for the start of the season.
“Trying find a balance between family and work but it seems like work is taking precedence over everything else,” Diggs said in his post on Instagram.
In his lone season with the Houston Texans, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games. Prior to that, he had been a Pro Bowler all four seasons he spent with the Buffalo Bills, and the numbers he produced during that stretch are what the Patriots are hoping to see in New England.
The first step to accomplishing that involves getting healthy and on the field. Diggs isn’t there yet, but he’s making it clear he’s locked in on football, and if he keeps on putting in work behind the scenes, a Week 1 return could become a very real possibility.
