Man United join race to sign Hugo Ekitike
The summer striker saga is heating up — and Manchester United are officially in the mix for Hugo Ekitike.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have made contact with Ekitike’s representatives as they explore options to bolster their attacking line. However, there’s been no official dialogue yet with Eintracht Frankfurt, who value the Frenchman at a hefty €100 million.
Ekitike: The Most Wanted No.9?
Ekitike is fast becoming one of the most talked-about names of the window. With elite clubs scrambling to find quality No.9s and the pool of top-tier strikers surprisingly shallow, it’s no wonder the 22-year-old is attracting attention.
Liverpool are still circling. Reports suggest they’ve asked Frankfurt to hold off on any decision until they resolve Darwin Núñez’s future. Meanwhile, Chelsea – despite adding Liam Delap – remain interested but are reportedly put off by the price tag.
Now, Manchester United have intensified their pursuit. With failed attempts to lure Viktor Gyökeres and Delap, Ekitike has emerged as a prime candidate. United are gauging both the financial details and the player’s desire to move to Old Trafford.
Amorim’s Attacking Rebuild
New boss Ruben Amorim is overseeing a rebuild in the final third, having already welcomed Matheus Cunha and targeting Bryan Mbeumo. Ekitike would be a marquee signing — but only if United can clear space, possibly by offloading Rasmus Højlund.
For now, the Ekitike watch continues. But with the big boys circling, this race is only just getting started.
