Tottenham suffer double transfer blow as Brighton swoop for two targets
Tottenham Hotspur are finding it tough in the early stages of the transfer window, with Brighton now handing them a major blow by swooping for two of the Lilywhites’ transfer targets.
As the Thomas Frank era gets underway at Tottenham Hotspur, one would expect the North Londoners to be busy this summer as they aim to tweak their squad to fit the Dane’s approach.
Some sources have said that Spurs could target as many as five signings this summer in the quest to build a squad that can cope with the rigours of Champions League football.
However, two bright young talents that Tottenham were keen on are now heading to the South Coast, according to a new report.

It was previously reported Spurs were big admirers of Olympiacos forward Charalampos Kostoulas after the 17-year-old had a breakthrough season in Greek football.
TBR Football have now confirmed that Spurs were indeed keen on landing the highly-rated teenager, while Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Aston Villa also had their eye on him.
However, according to the outlet, Kostoulas is now heading to the Amex Stadium this summer after Brighton struck a £30m deal with Olympiacos.
The versatile forward is now expected to travel to the South Coast for a medical before putting pen to paper on a contract with the Seagulls.
Tottenham miss out on highly-rated Italian centre-back
It had also emerged over recent days that Spurs were scouting Hellas Verona centre-back Diego Coppola at the European U21 Championships.
However, TBR Football say that the 21-year-old, who has been capped twice for the senior Italian side, is now also on his way to Fabian Hurzeler’s side.
According to the outlet, Brighton have agreed terms with Hellas Verona on a £8.5m deal for Coppola, beating Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool to the services of the player, whose stats suggest that he is among the best defenders in his age group across Europe.
