Jaylen Brown’s First Post Since Surgery Catches Celtics Fans’ Attention
The Boston Celtics announced on Wednesday that superstar forward Jaylen Brown had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after he battled injuries for much of the 2024-25 campaign. Shortly after the procedure, Brown caught fans’ attention with a quick post on social media.
Throughout the 2024-25 season, Brown battled a balky right knee, and in March, he began receiving pain injections in order to allow him to stay on the court for the C’s.
After the Celtics’ elimination from the 2025 NBA Playoffs, it was reported that the 2024 Finals MVP had been playing through a partially torn meniscus for the final month of the season.
While most of attention in the injury department has been focused on Jayson Tatum after he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in Game 4 against the New York Knicks, it ultimately wasn’t much of a surprise to see Brown undergo a cleanup procedure on his right knee.
With Tatum undergoing surgery less than 24 hours after suffering his injury, he’s already begun his lengthy rehab process. Brown is set to join him, as he posted a photo of himself on Instagram in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber as he kicks off his own rehab journey.
Brown followed up his standout postseason with a strong year for the Celtics, averaging 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 46.3% from the field. He earned the fourth All-Star selection of his career, although he missed out on making one of the three All-NBA teams.
The good news for Brown and the Celtics is that he’s expected to be ready to go for the 2025-26 season. That’s particularly important now since Tatum is expected to miss most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign as he recovers from his Achilles injury.
Boston now is set to enter an extremely important offseason, and the front office will likely be building this roster with Brown in mind. If he can step up and lead the team in Tatum’s absence, the C’s could surprise a lot of people next year.
