TattsCo-op Live can, or was supposed to, be able to host basketball and ice hocky. I can remember them making a big think of being able to move the lower tier of seating to create extra space for sports. Presumably the plan is for similar in the SQ.
That would make sense, then. Otherwise it would mean building another smaller arena for those sports and a Co-op Live just for concerts/conferences, which would wasteful.
Regardless, I can't see how even the most curmudgeonly amongst us can't fail to get excited by these developments. If it comes to fruition as they hope, this could end up a blueprint for every major club as generating revenue is key to success and make us the envy of every major club.
You can see why Knighthead have come in. A parcel of land - now at 125 acres - on the fringe of a major city centre lying dormant to do what you want with....and local and central government backing... [/quote]
It is really exciting seeing what Man City have done on their site and thinking we have 125 acres to work in. Not many clubs are going to be able to copy it either, I can't imagine there are a lot of 100+ acre sites available in major cities that are as well sited as the Wheels. The years of under investment in Birmingham are paying off for the club!
