Three Fulham players Marco Silva could look to bring with him to Tottenham if he ends up in charge - opinion

0 7

Marco Silva has been heavily linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job, and should he take over at Hotspur Way, there are three Fulham stars he might want to bring with him to bolster the Spurs squad.

Ange Postecoglou remains manager of Tottenham Hotspur, but that could change in the coming weeks, with reports stating that Spurs have already decided to sack Postecoglou ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Several managers continue to be linked with the Tottenham job including Oliver Glasner, Simone Inzaghi, Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank and Marco Silva.

The latter has done a great job at Fulham, leading the Cottagers to an 11th-place finish last season, with the London club even fighting for a spot in Europe at one point in the campaign.

Should Tottenham opt to sign Silva as their permanent manager, the Portuguese could bring three players who may improve the Spurs squad if they joined. Let us meet them…

Antonee Robinson could be strong competition for Destiny Udogie at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur need another full-back this summer, particularly if Ben Davies leaves when his contract expires.

At the moment, Spurs have three recognised full-backs in Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence, with Archie Gray often filling in as a makeshift option.

All of that could change if Robinson joins Marco Silva, should he make a switch to Tottenham this summer.

Djed Spence is naturally a right-back, so if Robinson were to join Spurs with Marco Silva, we could see the American international come in and provide competition for Udogie, with Spence competing with Porro for the right-back spot.

Robinson has surely impressed, as he grabbed ten assists in the Premier League last season, the most by any defender, and the joint fourth-highest in the league. He would be a solid addition.

Rodrigo Muniz could act as a backup striker option for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign Rodrigo Muniz ahead of the summer window, but it was reported that a move away from Fulham was very unlikely.

The former Flamengo man would need some persuading if he were to leave the Cottagers and join Spurs, but one would want to believe that if Silva were to persuade him to make a switch to N17, the Brazilian would be open to jumping ship.

Indeed, Muniz has enjoyed his spell as a forward in the Premier League at Fulham under Marco Silva, where he scored nine Premier League goals in 26 games in 2023/24 and then eight in 31 games in 2024/25.

Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Spurs, and if he were to leave, perhaps bringing in Muniz as backup would be a move Marco Silva considered.

Andreas Pereira could offer useful squad depth at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur, for sure, would be on the lookout for a player who can fill in as a ten, given James Maddison’s injury troubles, and Silva might fancy bringing in a man he knows as a backup to the Englishman.

Pound for pound, Maddison is the better player, but as a backup option, Andreas Pereira could prove a smart piece of business if he were to make a switch with Silva.

The former Manchester United man brings with him versatility, as he is capable of playing on the right, as a ten, an eight, and a six – qualities that are a dream for any manager.

He did manage to get himself eight goal contributions last season, after scoring twice and assisting six times. In the two seasons before that, Pereira got himself respectable ten-goal contributions in back-to-back campaigns, not bad for a backup option.
