Patriots’ Stefon Diggs Returns To Practice After Viral Video
New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs returned to One Patriot Place on Monday.
Diggs, who found himself in hot water after a troubling viral video surfaced on Memorial Day, returned to practice after missing several sessions over the last few weeks. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels confirmed the news during his pre-practice session with the media, though his comments regarding the star wideout were strictly related to football.
“It’s a voluntary part of the year, we know that. I don’t know if we’ve ever had perfect attendance,” McDaniels said, as transcribed by WEEI’s Tom Carroll. “As a coach, selfishly, you’d love it when they’re all here, because you feel like you’ve got them all in the classroom and all on the field and the rest of it. He’s here today, and we’re excited to have an opportunity to work with the guys that are out here and available to us. I know he’s staying up on the information and the material…I’m not concerned with Stef in that regard.”
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel addressed the video before the club’s first practice following its release, saying he wanted his players to “make great decisions on and off the field.”
Diggs himself hasn’t addressed the situation, with one post to Instagram being as far as he’d go on addressing the matter, but he did give a wave to media members as he took the field Monday.
The Patriots will make players available to the media following practice, so perhaps we’ll hear from the man himself later in the day.
