6 changes by Amorim | Predicted Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Aston Villa with Obi & Garnacho decisions
Manchester United entertain Aston Villa in their final game of the Premier League campaign today.
The Red Devils have picked up only 39 points from 37 games in the season but can end as high as 14th with a victory over the Villans at Old Trafford.
The game is a dead rubber for United, but they can spoil Villa’s prospects of making the Champions League. Unai Emery’s side are sixth on the table.
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Predicted Line-up:
Andre Onana has been an undisputed starter in goal for the Red Devils in the Premier League. He is assured to continue between the sticks this evening.
The backline should see changes. Leny Yoro only recently recovered from a foot injury and he may not be risked for the final game of the league campaign.
Luke Shaw had a poor outing in the Europa League final and could be another player to make way. We anticipate Noussair Mazraoui to drop into the back three.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof could accompany the Moroccan star. Lindelof is set to leave on a free transfer and could be handed a farewell game today.
Diogo Dalot is poised to start at right wing-back. Harry Amass could feature on the opposite end, with Patrick Dorgu likely to be rested for the post-season friendlies.
In central midfield, Manuel Ugarte looks certain to start after being a surprise unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur. He could be partnered by Kobbie Mainoo.
Further forward, Bruno Fernandes should feature in his customary number 10 role alongside Amad.
Rasmus Hojlund had another sub-standard performance in the Europa League final. Chido Obi deserves to get the nod upfront for the Red Devils. Joshua Zirkzee has just returned from a lengthy hamstring injury and could be restricted to a substitute role this evening.
As per United insider Sully, Alejandro Garnacho’s relationship with United manager Ruben Amorin has broken after he was left out of the starting XI against Spurs. He won’t be in the matchday squad today.
According to David Ornstein, the manager has told the Argentine to find a new club.
