Celtics’ Jayson Tatum Boosts Stacked Resume With Latest NBA Honor
The Boston Celtics had their season cut short and Jayson Tatum suffered a serious Achilles injury that could keep him out through next year.
The team still had plenty of success in the regular season and Tatum led the way with another fantastic campaign. The league recognized that in postseason awards as the Celtics star earned First-Team All-NBA honors as a unanimous selection.
Tatum made a sixth consecutive All-Star appearance and averaged just shy of 27 points per game. The Celtics star also tallied four more games with 40+ points. In what could be the final iteration of the championship lineup, Tatum dominated again alongside Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday.
The honors marks Tatum’s fourth First-Team selection and also earned a Third-Team selection during the 2019-20 season. The Celtics will look fairly different next season, but the accolade is a reminder of the motivation Tatum has to return to the floor at a high level and continue Boston’s championship window.
