Red Sox-Orioles Series Opener Postponed; Doubleheader Set For Friday

Mother Nature prevented the Red Sox and the Orioles from squaring off Thursday night at Fenway Park.

Significant rainfall in Boston resulted in the club’s series opener against Baltimore being postponed, the team announced. The American League East rivals now will play a split doubleheader Friday, with the first pitch for Game 1 scheduled for 1:35 p.m. ET. Game 2 will kick off at 7:10 p.m. ET.

Playing two certainly won’t be new territory for the 2025 Red Sox. Friday’s pair of games on Jersey Street will mark Boston’s third doubleheader, not even two months into the campaign.
