Ex-Red Sox Prospect From Garrett Crochet Trade Dominating Triple-A
The Boston Red Sox had to give a lot to get a lot in their daring trade for Garrett Crochet.
The most notable return for the Chicago White Sox in that trade is off and running in Triple-A Charlotte.
Kyle Teel looked like he could be the catcher of the future for the Red Sox and now shows the same for a White Sox organization in desperate need of high-level talent. Teel’s bat struggled in the first weeks of his Triple-A introduction with Worcester last season. Now, he’s in full swing.
Teel homered Thursday to the opposite field and extended his hitting streak to 18 games in the White Sox system. You can watch his home run here. The catcher’s OPS is up to .930 during the span as the bat looks more than settled in around the upper levels of the minor leagues.
Both teams should be happy with their ends of the trade so far with Crochet leading the league in innings with several electric starts for the Red Sox.
