Man United identify three priority sales as part of massive summer rebuild
Manchester United will prioritise the sales of forwards Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
United are planning a major squad overhaul following a dismal season, and the trio are considered surplus to requirements.
Antony is enjoying a productive loan spell at Real Betis, scoring eight goals and providing five assists across all competitions.
The Spanish club want to retain the Brazilian winger beyond the summer but may only be able to sign him on another loan deal.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Arsenal have all been linked with the left-footed winger.
United would need to sell him for £32.52 million to avoid a loss under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), but they are reportedly seeking at least £34m for him.
Rashford had been performing well on loan at Aston Villa before suffering a season-ending injury last month.
However, the England international is not interested in a permanent move to Villa Park and is reportedly eyeing a switch to La Liga champions Barcelona.
Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed they ‘like’ the versatile forward.
United have set a £40m asking price for the 27-year-old. As an academy graduate, any transfer fee received for Rashford would count as pure profit under PSR guidelines.
Sancho’s future is more uncertain following an underwhelming loan spell at Chelsea. While the Blues have an obligation to buy him for £25m, they could opt out of the deal by paying a £5m penalty.
The 25-year-old has been linked with Turkish side Fenerbahce, though it remains unclear whether they can meet his valuation.
United would need to sell him for at least £14.58m to avoid a PSR loss.
Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans are expected to depart when their contracts expire.
Tyrell Malacia, currently on loan at Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven, is also set to be sold.
Striker Rasmus Hojlund could be allowed to leave amid United’s reported interest in Manchester City prospect Liam Delap.
