Tottenham full time ratings vs Manchester United – Europa League champions

0 3

The final whistle has just been blown on the Europa League final match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, and it is time for our full-time ratings.

Tottenham Hotspur are champions of Europe following their impressive 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final at the San Mames Stadium in Spain.

Spurs have now booked themselves a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League with their Europa League final win.

It definitely is the perfect ending to what has been a poor domestic campaign where the Lilywhites have themselves sat in 17th place.

Let us take a look at our Tottenham player ratings from the final win at San Mames:

Tottenham player ratings vs Man United

Guglielmo Vicario Made a mess of several crosses on the night, but produced a few strong stops, particularly from Alejandro Garnacho early on in the second half and a late save from a Shaw effort in the closing stages of the half. A mixed performance from the Italian. 8.

Pedro Porro Porro had a few nervy moments, especially after the introduction of Alejandro Garnacho, who injected pace and trickery down Manchester United’s left. On several occasions, it looked like it was three-on-one against the winger, but Tottenham did what they had to do and Porro was at the heart of it. 8.

Cristian Romero Was at the heart of one of Spurs’ most solid defensive performances this season. Carried out his defensive duties with precision and made no errors. Was also right in the thick of it, getting under the skin of Maguire. 8.

Micky van de Ven My word, the goal-line clearance was just as valuable as scoring. Excellent anticipation from the Dutchman, who helped keep Tottenham in the lead. 8.

Destiny Udogie Stuck to his defensive responsibilities well, keeping Amad Diallo quiet while also driving the ball forward when required. Never stopped running, which was brilliant to watch. 8.

Yves Bissouma Bissouma continued his tireless work from the first half, chasing every ball and closing down every Manchester United player in the middle of the pitch. Stepped up brilliantly tonight. 9.

Rodrigo Bentancur More of the same from Bentancur, who held his own in the centre of the park in what was a double pivot for Spurs at times during the second half. Provided cover for Porro on the right, especially when Tottenham looked to double up on Garnacho. 8.

Pape Matar Sarr Sarr delivered the cross that led to Brennan Johnson finding the back of the net in the dying moments of the first half. 8.

Brennan Johnson Tottenham’s top scorer in both the Europa League and all competitions was on hand to finish from Sarr’s cross. Also tracked back regularly, providing additional defensive cover. 9.

Dominic Solanke Had a great opportunity to get a shot off in the second half after Destiny Udogie played him through, but his touch let him down at the crucial moment. 7.

RicharlisonThe Brazilian forward did his best to disrupt play in the second forty-five, winning and conceding fouls in equal measure. Also contributed defensively when called upon. 8.

Substitutes

Heung-min Son – The Tottenham captain replaced Richarlison in the 65th minute after the Brazilian went off injured. With Tottenham digging in to defend their lead, he was forced to do plenty of tracking back. 7.

Kevin Danso – The winter signing came on for Brennan Johnson as Spurs shifted to a back five late in the second half. 6.

Archie Gray – Repalced Sarr in the final minutes of the closing forty five minutes. N/A.

Djed Spence – Came on for a tired and exhausted Udogie for the final minutes in the second half. N/A.
