Jude is a victim of his own success that plagues those at the very top. I remember questions about cristiano ronaldo when he dropped from 48 league goals to 35 despite 35 still being insane.

This is exactly it. Last season was a frankly ridiculous season. The amount of goals he scored from midfield was insane, and he had an all-time series of games where he kept scoring last minute winners.

He was never going to replicate that.

Plus, signing Mbappe and losing Kroos has changed his role hugely. He both is playing deeper, and doesn't have the playmaker behind him to find his runs into the box.

As someone has pointed out, his match ratings are still extremely high. He just isn't scoring the goals due to his role in the team changing.
