The Everton Forum • Re: Great Goodison moments.
I get what you’re saying and look to the future etc but let’s not be too dismissive.I mean, the size of that plaza is much bigger than it looks you know. It's made to hold 25,000 people (the plan is to be able to host outdoor concerts between the stadium and the dock wall).
That's not to mention the imminent plans for Nelson & Salisbury docks and a touch further afield.
In the picture i have attached, the stuff circled in blue will happen relatively soon (5 to 10 years) the stuff in orange from 5 to 15 years and the stuff in purple deep into the following decade.
The sheer scale and scope of the plans for this area is beyond anything the city has seen in a long time. Greater than LiverpoolOne possibly.
There's a lot of nostalgia and sad thoughts knocking around at the moment. Goodison wasn't unique. (Villa park is amongst one of a few places that has everything Goodison does), Z-cars is not more special than the funeral dirge across the park. Our fans are no more present and available to the club that Newcastle's.
This is the third ground we have created in the city. We will make it work.
We’re happy about the new puppy, but we’re still grieving for the grand old Lady we’ve had to say goodbye to. She will never be replaced.
