Sean Crighton appointed Head Coach at Queen’s Park FC

0 5

QUEEN’S PARK FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Sean Crighton as the club’s new head coach.

Sean is a familiar face for Spiders supporters having led the club’s B team to the SPFL Reserve League title last season, as well as stepping into the interim coaching set-up for the final six weeks of the William Hill Championship campaign.

A central defender during his playing days, the experienced
35-year-old began his career at St Mirren and
amassed more than 550 games
throughout the Scottish league pyramid.

Off the pitch, he holds Uefa A, B and Youth licences and began his coaching career at Morton where he became head of youth alongside his playing commitments.

He was later player-coach at Airdrie and has also held a role within the SFA Performance School at Holyrood Secondary – just around the corner from our own southside home.

As head coach, Sean led Hamilton under-18s into the Uefa Youth League after winning the SPFL under-18s league and, after moving to Queen’s Park last summer, led the B team to Reserve League success.

Queen’s Park FC President Graeme Shields said: “On behalf of the Club I am delighted to have appointed Sean to the role as first-team head coach.

“Over the past year he has displayed impressive leadership qualities around our training complex at Lochinch, working with both the first team and the B team who he successfully led to a second consecutive SPFL Reserve League title.

“Sean will now begin appointing his coaching staff and prepare the first team squad for their return to pre-season training next month ahead of the new campaign.

“I’d also like to place on record the Club’s thanks to Steven MacLean who has left his position as interim head coach having helped retain the club’s place in the 2025-26 William Hill Championship.”

New Queen’s Park head coach Sean added: “I am honoured to take this role with Queen’s Park – a club with a historic place within our game.

“This summer will be one of change at the football club but having witnessed the depth of talent within the club and worked with them over the past year, I am excited for the  challenge ahead.”

Further updates on the first-team playing squad and coaching set-up will be announced in due course.
