Provisional Hellenic League Premier Division constitution announced

The provisional constitution for the 2025-26 Hellenic League Premier Division season has been published by the Football Association, with the allocations for all leagues at steps one through six of the National League System being released. There are set to be a handful of changes to the division, with Bassett - under new manager Jonny Aitkenhead - hoping to make it a fourth consecutive top half finish. Three sides return to the Hellenic Premier after a short spell away. Relegated in 2022-23, Hallen are now back in the Hellenic Premier after storming to the Western League Division One title. Cinderford Town - winners against Bassett in the 2023-24 playoff final - suffered immediate relegation back to the Hellenic Premier after finishing bottom of the Southern League Division One South. Also returning are 2022-23 champions Cribbs, who finished just one place ahead of Cinderford. There will be new opponents for Bassett in the form of Droitwich Spa. The Saltmen romped to the Division One title in their first season as Hellenic League members and will now be playing at step five for the first time ever. Departing the Hellenic Premier are Hartpury University and Sporting Club Inkberrow - both of who earned promotion to step four in their first seasons at step five. Heading in the opposite direction after just one season are Malmesbury Victoria. Brimscombe and Thrupp have also been relegated after twelve consecutive seasons at step five. Bassett and Brimscombe were promoted to the Hellenic Premier together in 2012-13 - and the new campaign will be the first time in 15 years that the two clubs have not been division rivals.
