£30m star wants Man United move but only on one condition

0 7

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap would be happy to join Manchester United this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old ‘feels they are a big club’ and is open to a move to Old Trafford.

However, his final decision on joining the Red Devils could be influenced by them winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League.

Newcastle United and Chelsea also want Delap. They currently occupy two of the qualification spots for the competition in the Premier League standings.

United are targeting the England youth international to bolster their attacking department after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failed to prove themselves.

The Red Devils are considered front-runners to secure his signature, but they could still miss out by not qualifying for the Champions League.

Delap has a £30 million release clause which can now be triggered following Ipswich Town’s relegation.

United are ready to seal a move for the young striker alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha as soon as possible.

Delap’s arrival could affect youngster Chido Obi

The arrival of Delap could have a massive effect on Chido Obi’s future at United.

The English forward will likely be the first-choice striker and would play most games, affecting the Norwegian starlet’s opportunities with the first team.

Delap is still very young and could spend most of his career at Old Trafford, culminating in Obi seeking more game time elsewhere.

The Norway youth international’s future at United would have been better guaranteed with the arrival of a more experienced striker than Delap, from whom he could learn and eventually succeed.

Obi could still have a bright future at United, but the arrival of the Manchester City academy product could significantly affect him.
