Momentum shifted back to the Celtics following Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, and an apparent injury to Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns has made matters worse for New York.
Towns seemed to suffered a hand injury midway through the second quarter of Boston’s 115-93 victory on Saturday. Towns was shown on the broadcast shaking and clutching his left hand while some internet lipreaders even believed he said “I broke it.”
“It is what it is. It is what it is,” Towns told reporters after he scored 21 points in 36 minutes in Game 3, per SNY. “I just want to do whatever I can to be out there.
“It is what it is. I’m gonna keep finding ways to play, so I ain’t tripping,” Towns said.
When asked if he an x-ray on his hand, Towns responded: “I’m gonna let them tell you that. What happens in this locker room, stays in the locker room.”
Towns and the Knicks will host the Celtics in Game 4 on Monday night.
