Pundit believes Harry Kane will be tempted to return to Tottenham soon

0 2

Spurs fans will love what Chris Sutton has said about the future of Harry Kane, with the pundit feeling that Tottenham’s record goalscorer will feel he still has unfinished business at his boyhood club.

One could see from the outpouring of joy from Spurs fans on social media when Kane won the Bundesliga title just what the striker means to the Tottenham faithful.

The 31-year-old is undoubtedly the club’s biggest legend of the Premier League era, and he has already secured his legendary status in North London by beating Jimmy Greaves’s goal record, which many thought would never be broken.

According to reports, Tottenham have a first refusal on Kane, and many Spurs fans will thus be dreaming of the centre-forward making a fairytale return to the club one day.

Chris Sutton expects Harry Kane to finish his career at Tottenham

It is clear that the England captain is not going to move on the move this summer, with Kane admitting last month that he is extremely happy at Bayern and expressing his desire to win the biggest trophies over the coming years.

However, Sutton believes that when the striker eventually feels it is time to move on from the Allianz Arena, he will be tempted to return to the club he loves.

When asked if Kane could return to Tottenham one day, the former Celtic striker said on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast: “Yeah, well, why not? Tottenham, he loves Tottenham, doesn’t he? You wouldn’t leave Bayern for Tottenham at the moment, would you?.

“Well, I mean, you’re looking at things negatively. I mean, if Harry Kane goes back to Tottenham, they’ll improve on this season in the Premier League, won’t they? So, if he loves the club that much, now he’s won a team trophy, he may think it’s time to come back and finish his career at Tottenham.”

Bayern are relaxed about Kane’s release clause

It is now public knowledge that Kane’s contract at Bayern has an exit clause of £54m this summer, which has fueled some speculation over his immediate future.

However, according to German outlets, Bayern are relaxed about Kane’s release clause as they do not expect the striker to push for a move this summer.

The issue was addressed just a few days ago by the Bundesliga giants’ sporting director, Christoph Freund, who insisted that Harry Kane will stay at Bayern even though his close friend and former Tottenham teammate, Eric Dier, will depart the club.
