Tom Brady, 47, Made It Clear He Misses Playing Football While Talking to Jason Kelce
Tom Brady really misses playing football.
After retiring from the game, officially, in February 2023, Brady has taken on a job as a sports analyst for Fox Sports. He's also become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. However, there's just something about actually getting out on the field that Brady feels on a deep level.
At the 2025 Super Bowl, Brady chatted with retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. The two shared a moment in which Brady said three words to Kelce about the game.
"Nothing replaces playing," Brady told Kelce, according to the former NFLer. The news came while Kelce was chatting with pro golfer Shane Lowry at the 2025 Truist Championship at Wissahickon Course in Philadelphia on May 7. The soundbite was shared on Instagram on May 8.
Lowry responded to Kelce saying, "Then when you see your team win the Super Bowl, you're like, 'hmm.'" Of course, Lowry was referring to Kelce watching the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX.
As for Brady, he previously toyed with the idea of returning to the NFL, and even mentioned it in 2024.
"I'm not opposed to it," Brady said on an April 2024 episode of the Deep Cut podcast. "I don't know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I'm always going to be in good shape. I'll always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don't know if they would let me. But I wouldn't be opposed to it."
Brady played 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, winning six Super Bowls under Bill Belichick. He went on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning Super Bowl LV in his first season with the team.
