Women's World Cup to expand to 48 teams from 2031: FIFA

FIFA has announced expansion of the Women's World Cup. The tournament will include 48 teams from 2031. This decision follows the growth of women's football globally. The competition will adopt a 12-group format. The number of matches will increase to 104. The tournament duration will extend by one week. Brazil will host the 2027 tournament with 32 teams.
