Tottenham Hotspur could be in line to pocket a decent chunk of change over the coming months as Troy Parrott is now being heavily linked with a return to the Premier League.

Troy Parrott has not looked back since his impressive showing on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam last term, with the striker thriving at Alkmaar since his £6.7m move last summer.

The centre-forward has found the back of the net 20 times in his first season at the AFAS Stadium, and this has reportedly attracted interest from the Premier League.

It was reported earlier this week that Wolves are now plotting a move for Parrott as they scour the market for a potential replacement for Matheus Cunha.

Wolves are not the only ones eyeing the former Tottenham Hotspur man, with reports over recent days revealing that Leeds United are also keen on securing Troy Parrott’s signature ahead of their return to the top flight.

Tottenham may stand to benefit from the transfer as Spurs inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause on Parrott when they sold him to AZ last summer.

With some sources indicating that the Eredivisie club values the 23-year-old at around £21.2m (Mirror), Tottenham may pocket upwards of £4m if the Republic of Ireland international does seal a return to the Premier League.

Parrott is not the only former Tottenham academy graduate whose move this summer could boost the Lilywhites’ coffers.

Marcus Edwards’ purchase clause has been triggered by Burnley’s promotion, and Spurs are expected to receive £3m for Edwards this summer, given the 35 per cent sell-on clause they have on the winger.

While these may not be big amounts, the North Londoners could certainly do with all the help they can get, particularly amidst reports that Tottenham have to sell before they can buy players this summer.
