Club tells Man Utd star they will give him £1m+ per-wk deal if he joins, talks held with his reps

Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal have held exploratory talks with the representatives of Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and are ready to hand him a deal worth more than £1 million a week if he joins them, according to The Telegraph.

The Red Devils are not willing to sell their captain anytime soon after he extended his deal until 2027 last summer, with the option of a 12-month extension included in it.

However, the tempting offer from Al-Hilal could get Fernandes thinking about his future given he currently earns around £300,000 per week at Man United.

The SPL club have had the 30-year-old on their radar since last summer and are ready to pull out all the stops to sign him this summer after missing out on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who has opted to remain with the Reds by signing an extension.

Fernandes fits the bill of the marquee signing Al-Hilal want as the Gulf country looks to strengthen their league with the best players from Europe.

He has been an important player for Man United since joining from Sporting CP in 2020, with 62 goals and 50 assists to his name in 192 appearances, and losing him right now as head coach Ruben Amorim plots to turn their fortunes around will be a big blow.

Despite being crucial to the Old Trafford club, whether Man United could resist a substantial bid from Al-Hilal for the Portuguese, were they to be given encouragement by Fernandes that he is open to a move, remains to be seen.

Winning the Europa League this term could play a huge role in the immediate future of their skipper as that means Champions League football next season and a potential summer squad rebuilding, and the Saudis will keep monitoring the situation of things at the Manchester club.
