Bruins Sign Veteran Leader To Contract Extension
The Boston Bruins rewarded veteran forward Patrick Brown with a one-year, two-way contract extension with an NHL cap hit of $775,000, the club announced Tuesday.
Brown joined the Bruins organization when he signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract with Boston on the first day of free agency in 2023. P-Bruins head coach Ryan Mougenel rewarded the 32-year-old forward by naming Brown the 27th captain in franchise history.
He tallied 28 goals and 50 assists in 98 games for Providence across two seasons. In the 2024-25 campaign, he led the P-Bruins in power-play goals with 10, tied for fourth in goals (17), second in assists with 19 and third in points. Brown also suited up for Boston for 15 games this season, registering one assist.
Brown has skated in 501 career AHL games with Providence, the Henderson Silver Knights, Chicago Wolves and Charlotte Checkers. He has 91 goals and 141 assists for 232 points.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Michigan native has played in 164 career NHL games with Boston, the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes, tallying 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points.
