Tottenham fans will love Mark Lawrenson’s score prediction for West Ham
Mark Lawrenson believes that Tottenham Hotspur will carry on their momentum from their Europa League semifinal against Bodo/Glimt and get all three points at the London Stadium on Sunday.
The mood around the Tottenham fan base is now much more upbeat and expectant than it has been for much of the season, with the Lilywhites now just one game away from a big European final.
Normally, a London derby away at West Ham is a marquee fixture for the North London side, but the reverse fixture against Bodo/Glimt next Thursday will be dominating the minds of Spurs fans.
Ange Postecoglou will be expected to rotate his Spurs squad considerably as he has done in the last few league fixtures, but according to one pundit, that would not necessarily stop Tottenham from coming away with three points from East London.
Mark Lawrenson expects Tottenham to beat a woeful West Ham
Lawrenson expects Spurs to edge out the home side and emerge with a rare away win from the London Stadium.
However, that is not because he is convinced Postecoglou’s men are a good outfit, but rather because of how poor West Ham have been of late in the Premier League.
When asked to predict the result of Sunday’s fixture, the pundit told Paddy Power: “West Ham have not won for a long time – not since February! Tottenham are an ongoing disaster but I’ll stick my neck out and back them to win this just, but only because West Ham are so poor.”
Score prediction: West Ham 1-2 Tottenham.

Spurs will want to avoid any additional injuries
With Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison recently joining Heung-min Son, and Radu Dragusin on the sidelines, Postecoglou will want to avoid any other additional injury ahead of the second leg against Bodo/Glimt.
With the Europa League final just two and a half weeks away if Tottenham get there, it would not be surprising if the Spurs players subconsciously start shying away from challenges to prevent an injury.
It would not be surprising if Tottenham’s league form goes off a cliff, just as it did during their Champions League run in 2019. Not that the cliff was that high to start with.
